Future prospects for acceptable battery life/

Between updates and maybe better batteries being released, what are the chances that those of us whose phones die after only a few hours of normal use will one day soon have phones that last the whole day on a single charge? Is there any precedent for this? In other words, have there been any other smartphones that were rushed to market with subpar battery life, but that are now capable of holding a decent charge?

well, essentially batteries operate on a limited capacity, rated by a number, and that number is measured in mAh, and the batteries are built to supply a voltage that is needed to run the device it is in. the amount of power used is shown by the amount of amps, and also ties to the voltage supplied. the only way a battery, with such low mAh (around 1400 i believe) will last a long time, is if you use a low voltage kernel and/or the phone is tweaked to use less power to run. the best way possible to get better battery life would be to have a bigger battery. if these phones were supplied with a 2800 mAh battery, it would be a monster!! but currently, those batteries are a lot bigger than stock... and makes it hard to find a phone case to fit, if any are made.
