Hi guys my bionic is currently
system version 5.5.893.xt875
android version 2.3.4

I'm looking to root my phone to stock form to get rid of some bloatware, just want to know if the "oneclickroot.zip" method works for my version.
with that method, will i still have a stock interface with all data and memory retained or will the phone be wiped out?

also i've been seeing threads on .902 or ICS or new OTA updates being put forth. If i root my phone now, will the OTA undo the root? should i just wait until i receive an OTA and then root?

thanks!

If you want to update to 902 and/or 905 then go to settings...about phone...system updates.

To root 902, use motofail.

moto fail will root both 902 and 905
i recommend using voodoo ota keeper app to keep root so if you decide to try the ics leaks you don't have to reroot.
using voodoo , before you flash a new ota , unroot ( backup root ) then after flashing ota just use it to restore root
also with all the ics leaks ( 2231 , 2233 , 229 , 230 ) 230 is the best of the bunch and all can fxz back to 905 to get back on the upgrade path

No you will not lose anything just by rooting your phone. :)
