No, Verizon recognizes a Skype call and does not charge minutes even though these calls are routed through their voice service.

However, the calls are only FREE if you are calling another SKYPE user. If you are calling a landline or other cell user, it uses your Wireless plan minutes.

If you are calling an international number, it will utilize Skype plan minutes that you will need to purchase.

So in a nutshell, if you are calling anywhere in the US do not use Skype Mobile unless it is another Skype user.

other allowing me to call skype customers while i'm in the states, the app seems worthless. fring uses skype to call from international locations. much better app.
