Need Help Please!

I took my battery out of my droid eris today to put another one in, and when I powered my phone back on theres a black screen with a exclamation point inside a triangle with a phone sitting beside it. It wont do anything else.... Can somebody help me with this?

First replace with the original battery. IF that does not work power reset (power off, then power back on). Otherwise I would say you may need to go to the Verizon store.

What prompted the battery switch in the first place?

Nothing did, I have multiple Batteries
