Gowalla or Four square GPS.

Is there a way to make Gowalla or Foursquare locations better on Droid X? I can be standing right in front of say Best Buy and it will not show up or show it really far away. Yes i have calibrated it next to my house in the middle of a parking lot in a field in the middle of the country with nothing around me for miles except for bushes and squirrels and its still not accurate. I have refreshed it over and over and sometimes it will pick up my correct location. So is my droid x bad or do those apps suck if so it there a better one?

PS: the google maps are accurate and navigation seems pretty dead on and so does latitude.
