Installing more than one home app?

I'm currently using Home++ but also have Open home installed. I've cleared out all the icons on the stock home. Will this scenario kill battery life? I noticed today battery life was significantly reduced.

I have the stock home page, GDE and Home++. Testing them all and battery use has not changed much. I get a full day needing to charge only when I go to bed.

It shouldn't. The only home replacement that should be using battery is the one you actually have set as your home screen. the other one wouldn't be running so it shouldn't be using battery.
