Hello!!

I work in Research and Development at a cell phone data-clearing facility. I own lots of phones but I won't be listing them here since I am more interested with keeping up to date on current android technology.

I am always trying to get into locked or 'bricked' phones and get them data-cleared for resale.

Currently I am searching for a way past the welcome screen on a Droid RAZR XT912 with no active SIM available. We cannot use active SIMS. Before ice cream sandwich dropped, I could (VOLUME+POWER) to get in, this does not work with ICS. I have to be able to settings to verify data is gone to acconplish my goals here.

Anyone have any thoughts or ideas? Thanks in advance for any help. Love these forums!!

Welcome to DF angelfaedarkstar! It sounds like you are trying to get in recovery and with ICS, you can't without an active sim card? You have tried holding volume up + Volume down + Power... all three at the same time when phone is off? Does this happen on all Razr's with ICS or is this the first time trying with ICS razr? I wonder if it might just be a problem for this one phone.

Thanks justin. I just tried to go into recovery on my ICS Razr without the sim card installed and it worked fine, so it is not an ICS issue. Make sure you are pushing all the buttons at the same time.

As for my Ice Cream Sandwiched Droid RAZR, yes I was indeed just fat fingering it. I was, of course, able to get into it after I realized & read the comments ya'll left. Thank you for the comments. Since this is my paid position at work, I was a little nervous about finding the right forums for my research.

I found droid forums though and this was a great first week!!
