iPhone to android video sending

My friends all have iphones and whenever they send me a video it's either really poor quality or it just shows a microphone and I can hear the background noises but no video... any way to fix this?

It has to do with the sending. When they send you pics are they also small? The iPhone reduces the size of outgoing media depending on the selections in the iPhone.

It sounds like the the other phone is reducing the media to fit. If it's a text message format the max data size is very small. I think the current Gmail max size is 20mb. Best would be if the original video was uploaded to a cloud service. A short video recorded at 720p or 1080p gets big very quickly. Once uploaded to the cloud like Dropbox, a link could be sent to you to download now or later on wifi.

Unfortunately, I've found most Iphone people to be somewhat ignorant on how their phone works. It's even more rare for one to admit they are the problem.

Yea my wife's iPhone 4s does the same, when she tries to send a big video file (more than 15 seconds) her phone downsizes the file and the video usually is very bad quality.

This is why I use Pixorial or YouTube for video sharing between phones.

Dropbox is a good app for large file sharing and the more people you get to sign up the more free space you get.
