Notification Icon that will not disappear and cannot find what it is for

I cannot figure out what the 1st icon in the notification area is for and it is using up serious battery usage. If anyone knows what it is and how to get rid of this please help. No new apps were downloaded, the phone was in a pocket and the icon appeared and I cannot figure this out.

I think it might be for hearing aids... go into settings and look for something like that under "accessibility".

I've never seen that on an HTC device. Check your manual, should say in there
