Here at HQ we are kinda hoping what we are about to report is untrue. We have some insider intel which suggests the next Moto X device from Motorola will not be called the Moto X+1 as has been widely publicized. The final retail version of the device could be called the Moto X One.
If this proves true, it will seem as if Motorola has followed HTC's naming convention instead of going in their own direction, which would be a bit disappointing.
This intel comes from an unusual source and is merely a small deduction at this point. Through some of our secret sources we caught wind that Motorola has sent out a casting call for female actors to try out for some commercials. The product listed for the commercials is specifically called the X One (as you can see in the screen grab above), instead of the Moto X+1.
While this is obviously very thin evidence, as it could simply be a temporary placeholder name, it's not outside the realm of possibility that this is indicative of the final name for the device. We will do some digging and see if this leads us anywhere. In the mean-time, let us know what you think...
[Editor's Note: although it isn't shown in the screen capture, this casting call was sent out by Motorola. This could only be seen from a different section of the casting call landing page.]
