Samsung Galaxy S7 is Best Smartphone in the World According to Consumer Reports

Some might consider this a dubious award considering the source, but the Samsung Galaxy S7 just beat out the iPhone as the Consumer Reports Best Smartphone in the World. The publications editor, Mike Gikas, said “These new models aren’t just Samsung’s best smartphones, but, perhaps, the best smartphones. And they now sit atop our Ratings,”

He was impressed with the phone's water-resistance, battery life, performance and available expandable memory. Strangely, they didn't rate the camera or battery life as highly as previous generations. Still, a win is a win.

Why? They are not beholden to advertiser's influence and test thoroughly. There are other articles concerning Consumer Reports testing methods and their "Brain Drain". I don't entirely discount their opinion. In the past their reviews of trucks have been critical for low gas mileage and uneven ride. The editors seem to think everyone should be driving a luxury hybrid.
