Hey guys and girls,
I just got this very nice Usb 3.0 2TB hardrive for the holidays and I love it, it looks awesome. But... my computer is a couple years old, and it only has USB 2.0. Transfer speeds are ok, but is their anyway i can outfit my current laptop to USB 3.0?
My Computer: Toshiba Satellite A215-S4757 (known normally just as the A215)
I have done my research and have found this TOSHIBA Satellite A215 PCMICA USB 3.0 Express Cardbus, FREE Shipping, TOSHIBA Satellite A215 PHONE PCMICA USB 3.0 Express Cardbus
I have never really used the Expressport on my PC before so im really unfamiliar with this... Do it actually work at USB 3.0 speeds? it said here that PCI speeds would be 2.5 gbps...or usb mode 480 mbps (Not sure what that means). ExpressCard - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
**Also manual says that
"Expandability
• 2 main memory slots. Both slots may be occupied.
• ExpressCard™ slot (ExpressCard/34 and ExpressCard/54)
• 5-in-1 Bridge Media Adapter"
Im sure this thread will help quite a few people who are in my position so if someone would please answer this one with detail then it would be cool.
Thank You in advance!
