Any way to extend screen timeout when entering lock pattern?

When I'm about to enter my lock pattern after waking the phone up my phone screen blacks out and I have to re-awake it via power button on top to re-attempt to enter my unlock pattern.

It's currently staying on for 8 seconds. Where is the setting to change this?
No I'm not rooted. On 2.1update1

That's for regular screen timeout once you get past the lock screen.

lol. Its is a little annoying, but what bothers me even more then that is that I have to enter my pattern like 3 times, becuse it thinks I didn't do it right!
