I can't open the camera on my bionic. "Camera is unable to initialize" is the only error I receive. HELP!

Are you rooted or factory stock?

Was it dropped?
Gotten wet?
How long have you had the phone?
Are you on one of the ICS leaks?

Factory stock, I guess. I've only had the phone since May, but already had to do a factory reset for another issue

Are you insured? If so you should be able to take it to a Verizon store.

Did you get any ota updates? Install any apps around the same time the issue started?

TMYINC has a point. Try unistalling Brightest Flashlight. It may be related. After all, it uses the camera's flash.

aaf709 that's a good point too.
Yeah try uninstalling the flashlight app, reboot, and try the camera again. I took a look at the app and it doesn't look malicious or that it would break the camera but you never know. Every phone is different. Good luck and hope you get it fixed.

Thanks for the help and advice, but I uninstalled the app, shutdown, and even removed the battery (just for kicks), and still can't open the camera. I guess a factory reset is next?

I'm insured so I would take it to a Verizon store. If another app is causing the problem then a Factory Reset would take care of it.

The last time I heard of this happening was that it was dropped.
