deleting phone history

How do I delete my phone history? Not my browser history, but the thing that comes up when you click the button at the very bottom next to home.

Ok, when I turn my phone on, I have three things on the very bottom. Return, home, and a rectangle that pops up as history of everything. How do I delete that history popup. It has my phones history in pictures on there. Every app I go, there is a screenshot of it. I want to delete those screenshots.

I think all you have to do is swipe them to to the left or right and that should get rid of them.
