Droid Razr M Root

I'm completely new to this root experience and I'm doing all the research I can before actually rooting. I have a RAZR M 4.1.2; 98.30.1.XT907. From what I've found motochopper no longer works on RAZR M. Is this true? If it is, is there another way to get started? And if I had to activate my warranty could I reverse it so I don't out myself $500? And I know the new OTA update is coming, but I've just been waiting and waiting. Does anyone have an ETA so I can plan my root around that a little better? I have lots of questions and any help would be greatly appreciated.
