ESN Info and backlight coil

just wondering if i swap out the "L" shaped pcb board in my droid x will that effect my esn. Basically my my original back light went out and i have tested multiple lcd screens to see if that was the problem but unfortunately its not. so i want to buy a used phone off ebay to swap out the boards. but im not sure if the ESN info is on that specific board. i dont want to put a board with a working backlight in my phone and then not be able to activate it on my account. any help at all will be greatly appreciated.

Yes it will change the esn. As long as it's clean you can just reactivate.
