I've run into the same problem - installed jb the other day, and ever since, my Foxfire/PDAnet+ won't work - I get the same message as the OP. Sucks, 'cause I paid ~$7 for the upgrade version.:-(. Anyone know of a remedy?

Assuming that you have not paid for the hotspot feature through vzw, it's been known since the Christmas leak came out that PDAnet+foxfi does not work in JB for WiFi hotspot. There are numerous threads on the subject, and unless PDAnet gives us a workaround (updated app) the only choices now are
Use PDAnet & USB tether, or
Use PDAnet & BT tether, or
Root
