Verizon update_SCH-I545_NK1 killing my battery life

Samsung S4 SCH-I545
So I got the update earlier this week and it appears that it is now KILLING my battery. I just got a new battery and prior to the update I would get well into the evening after taking it of the charger in the morning, but now it dies after 6 hours with minimal use.

Any ideas on what I can do to make my phone more useable?

You need to factory reset the device. If that doesn't solve it. Use the software repair assistant to restore the software

Yup. Looks like something didn't quite take with the update. We've seen several similar issues with this update and a factory reset has fixed almost all of them.
