Yahoo Messenger Shutting Down

Goodbye Yahoo Messenger, it was fun when I used it years ago. Just wonder if it and other similar messenger services are really a dying breed. Its been years since I used any messenger. What I find interesting is they are suggesting to use Yahoo Squirrel. Wonder how long they will be able use the name since there has been a Squirrel email service for years.

The retirement of Yahoo Messenger, which was an industry pioneer that got outdone by competitors, shouldn't really be a surprise. Oath, the Verizon media division that combines AOL and what's left of Yahoo, shut down AOL Instant Messenger last year in order to focus on new products.

I only use SMS and Facebook messenger when there is wifi but no cell service.

Actually, I don't have the idea that Yahoo messenger has shut down. I 've never tried using it years ago. I only check emails.

I used to use it before 2010. Then I used Skype and now Facebook Messenger.
