Strange since day 1 (over a month ago) I whenever I get a email from eBay be it a notification that a item has been relisted, sales notification from a seller, etc. of any kind the date is 12/31/1969.

Its every day on any eBay messages.

Anyone else notice this and how do I correct this?

Thanks

I get similar emails, but they are not from ebay. Mine are mostly orphaned emails that have no data in them, nor who they were sent from. Just the date 12/31/1969.

It could be showing 12/31/1969 if it's a bad/invalid timestamp. 12/31/1969 is the start of UTC time. Sometimes it's used when the date that was sent can't be displayed.

Well I mean the orphaned emails make sense. Obviously there is no data in them because in 1969 all emails were blank. It was the fad. Clearly, email was slower then and it is just now getting it to you.

Hmmm something to think about but it didn't happen on my Storm1, or 2...

Wouldn't the BB also have a problem with it then?
In fact the dates were right on those devices.

What can I do to find out if this is the issue?
Its whenever I get a eBay message.

Thanks

My husband recently bought the new Motorola Droid 2.1. We live in Arizona but he works in Alaska. He flew up today and when he landed and turned his phone on it reverted back to the date of 12/31/1969. Anyone know why this would happen? He has tried to reset the date, uninstall the battery and reinstall it. Nothing. Please help...

Try this:

Place the phone in "Safe Mode"
How?

1. open the Qwerty Key board press and hold the menu key on the key board and the power key.
the phone will shut down.
When it comes back on it will display safe mode at the bottom of the screen
2. check the calendar and see if it is showing right time now.
3. to remove safe mode just power cycle the phone again

I've seen this happen to many people. It's not an uncommon occurrence.

Never seen it on the date but sometimes when emails come from yahoo they have that date, also very annoying.

Go to settings, Date & Time, or something to that sort, and check automatic update for the time. If it is already checked, uncheck and check it again, and it should sync the time.

Have tried the date reset thru the settings menu but it reverts back each time I power down the phone. I will attempt the Menu + the power button to the safe mode next.

The phone was right both of those states are 40 years behind.

Be carefull with some of the attempts to fix it, you don't want to accidentally deactivate it.. I recall someone in alaska having to mail his droid back to the lower 48 states since you can't activate a verizon phone in alaska. I have no idea why but perhaps the network is slightly different up there.

If any of you have any insight on my similar issue...I'd appreciate any help :)

Hi all,

I have several messages that show up as being received on Dec 31, 1969. When I try to delete the message it says "The entire thread will be deleted", I press delete and nothing happens...it's still there. The contents of the messages are all blank as well.

I know I can fix this by doing a wipe...but I would really rather not do that. I'm hoping there is a simpler fix/solution for this.

I'm running Bugless Beast v0.1 (Froyo), with bgill55's Clean Black theme and P3's 125/1100 kernel. I am also using the stock messaging app.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

SS for your viewing pleasure ;)
