1x instead of 3g ........ thunderbolt

on the top of the screen where its suppose to say 3g, it says 1x and my network is lagging or unavailable?? help please dont wanna have to reset the phone again!! So I just searched google and wanted to add that i already tried a battery pull and failed, and that I am in good service area

Could just be network issues....I would wait it out.
