2.01 Bugs??? (SOUNDS)

So I updated this morning after receiving the prompts to do so, which i was excited about. After updating my OS, my sounds seem to be bugged out. I have all sounds off, being that I am at work, but this thing keeps beeping now no matter what i do. If i unlock my phone i get a very loud "BING" if i click on anything on my main screen i get another very loud "BING" and its quite annoying. I have gotten very used to using my phone for many things during work but if this thing doesnt stop "BINGing" at me I am gonna have to shut it off. It just "BINGed" again while I was typing this message for no apparent reason, no messages no actions taking place.

Is anyone else getting this sound bug???

Well I thought I had tried this before.... but i was able to get it to work just now after trying it again.

Apparently I have to have my "Media Volume" setting turned all the way down to get the bings and dings to stop. This really doesnt make any sense though and it seems that the functionality has changed, not for the better. Shouldnt it not return any sound while in silent mode? This is how it was functioning in the past. Unless of course I choose to play and MP3 or use Pandora or something of the like, which is what the Media Volume option is for as I understand it. Normal use of the phone should not be included with the Media Volume correct?

Can anyone confirm that they are getting extra sounds during normal use of the phone while the have the Media Volume turn on, and Silent mode also turned on? Thx.

I am having this issue as well and it is very irritating. I love the phone, but a lot of the wind has been taken out of my sails so to speak first due to the poor Exchange support and now this. I just got my phone two days ago and have not performed any version updates on it since then.

Try going into settings>applications>running services and look for a strange service that isn't default, then stop it. This is what I did to resolve this issue and it has not come back. Unfortantely I did not write down the name of the service. Hope this helps. If its not obvious which one to delete, feel free to document them all here and hopefully I will be able to better remember.

I took a more drastic approach. Since I'd only had the phone for a couple of days when I first noticed the unwelcome sound effects, I decided to just do a hard reset. Well, apparently Android is awesome enough to have already backed up every app I had installed, and the problem was still there after hard reset. On the second round, I individually uninstalled everything, then performed the reset. The problem still has not returned. On the downside, I don't know exactly which app caused it.

List of downloaded apps that I uninstalled:

flixster
guitar tuner (don't know the official name; may be just "tuner")
app manager
taskpanel
locale beta
android vnc viewer
twitdroid
bank of america app

I hope this is of some assistance.
