2.1 question

Will 2.1 come as an auto-update like 2.01? or will we be responsible for downloading and installing it ourselves? From what I was reading it sounded like the latter. Sorry if this is a redundant post.

Both.

2.1 will be released by Google as open source. If you want to and you're willing to risk bricking your Droid, you can download the source code, do whatever you want with it, compile it, and load it on your phone.

Or, you can wait for Motorola/Verizon to take that same open source code, have their programmers tweak it for the Droid, and push it out as an OTA upgrade. It'll take a bit longer that way but unless you have mad coding skills it's the smarter thing to do.
