2 questions I neeed MAJOR help with !!!!!!

1st question please: HOW and why do you "root" a droid incredible?

2nd question please: How can I remove some of the stupid music that is
preloaded onto the phone? It's mixed in with all my
other music on my SD card and I can't figure out
how to delete the songs that came loaded on the
phone.

1. Well, as for why you would root, one, well... same as the reason for rooting any other Droid. More control, more options, arguably safer [due to nandroid backups].

How? Well, look around here. I've a Moto Droid 1, so... Can't help you there.

2. Go into the music app, long press a song, delete?

Huh. That works on my 2.2 Moto Droid 1. Just trying to brainstorm what you could do...

And yes, rooting a Droid is the equivalent of jailbreaking an iPhone. It gives you administrator privileges on your phone, so you can do more that it originally wouldn't let you do.

Root, Unlock, Jailbreak all about the same thing.

Seems kinda risky to me, no? I'm afraid I'd mess it up. I'm more concerned about getting this stupid preloaded music off of it !

it can be.... i would print off the directions to root and read read read........ then if you need to practice typing stuff do it on your computer.... then read again........ and highlight problems you are having......... then practice....... take your time and read what ppl are asking for help on and what ppl like about it... don't be afraid to try different roms to see what you like........ GL take your time and have fun
