My Gmail won't update for every new message unless I manually refresh it

Are you overclocked? That will overheat you. As for gmail go to accounts and sync and make sure auto sync is turned on. I keep it off and do it manually. It saves a lot of juice

Don't worry about it. If you don't know then it's not the problem. Still, check the sync thing I mentioned above

Overclock is for speeding up the processor over factory speed. You can go to battery & data manager the battery usage to see if you have a app thats running more than normal and keeping the processor running
