3 Audio book questions please.

Sorry if these questions seem stupid. I am new to Android technology and just got my Droid X 2 days ago.

If I want to listen to Audiobooks, do I require a special app to run them?

If I download them, what format...mp3? (this way I would just listen to them like music mp3, right?)

I would imagine that the only function of a audiobook app would be to organize them, right?

There are several file formats for audio books out there. I use MP3 files so any app that plays MP3s will play them. I purchased an app called Bookdroid. It makes listening to audiobooks a little more convenient. Here is the link if you want to try it out. They can't sell it in the market because of the country they are from so you have to download it from their site.

You can use any format that is playable on Android; I personally use .mp3. Just place them on your sdcard and open them through a file explorer, or the "Music" application.
