I ha e an old 720 p Sony Bravia non smart TV which has a built in sound bar and was high end 15 years ago

I was thinking of updating to a new Samsung 41 inch but the lower end 720p and 1200 have bad reviews then the more expensive g50 alternativly the tcl low in model got high reviews but is 720p

What do you guys think is a good deal right now. Space only can fit a 31" tv

What's your price range ? Samsung does a great job with see of their TVs and TCL is underated but good value TVs

The tcl is 120 but 720p the Samsung 1020 is $220 and the Samsung g50 is $500 the g50 looks the best and might not need a sound bar but the low end models usually do

Q50 is the only o e that isn't sold out best the 720p the 1080 model seems to be out of stock

I bet this TCL is not bad at all for $170 and you have spare cash for a sound bar

I like Samsung smart apps better than the Roku but the tcl has good reviews
Samsung smart apps go horizontal while Roku is vertical. I have tried both sets of TV's they have pluses and minuses but the q50 seems to be the best but pricey

I just tried Samsung smarthinga and Google home

Google home can only turn off the Samsung TV it treats it as a smart switch and the smart things app can go control the tv but can't turn it on as Samsung TVs can only be turned on if on wifi but not if connected by lan which I think is odd as smarthinga are controlled by what's logged in to smarthings

You should be able to connect the Samsung TV to your wireless network ...I'm not sure though on turning on ...

It doesn't do wake on Lan but does do wake on wifi also the lan connects at 100mb as Samsung doesn't put gb nics in their TV's I read. Streaming I have read needs 4mbs to 40mbs depending on quality so I guess 100mb is ok. I like having devices that have Ethernet to be on lan so I don't over tax my Google WiFi network which tops out at 350mb although the newer Google WiFi router can be swapped in to be faster wifi I have heard. Anyone try the newer Google WiFi?

Moto phones don't support casting natively. They only support Chromecast
