4.4 crashed on install

Got my OTA 4.4 upgrade this week for my Nexus 7 (2012) and when I installed it, it crashed. Robot android on his side with and error tag. Since then I have been trying to recover the upgrade but have had no success. Any idea? Thanks

are you rooted?

Whether you are or not hold power and volume up this should take you to the bootloader menu, use the volume key to go through menu until you see recovery and hit power button to select. In recovery use volume key to navigate to wipe data/factory reset (this will wipe your device of all data) navigate to wipe cache , then navigate to reboot.

The reason I asked if you were rooted because a custom recovery will help protect media/data (pics, music, etc) and also if your recovery has not been updated that is most likely your cause for the issue.

After 24 hours I finally got to a place where I could reach setting. Finding a keyboard was a trip, choices were Hindu , Chinese, and Korean, voice was the default. No English keyboard shown. I picked Chinese and it came up as English. After everything was back. Just got the 4.4install but afraid it might crash. Will let u all know

That sounds really weird. You selected chinese on the phone and it was english + the phone getting crashed. I think this has something to do with rooting your phone.
