4g upgrade

I currently have an X2 with Verizon on the old unlimited data plan. Whenever my upgrade is available, I'm wanting to get a 4g phone. I'm curious if anyone knows if switching to a 4g phone, will it affect my unlimited data plan as in will I need to get a new one of their crap plans with 2gig or 4gig data? If this is going to be the case, I think it will be the final straw with Verizon for me and I'll be switching to a new carrier.

I recently went from 3G to 4G. My unlimited plan is still intact.

Switched to my first 4g device with the release of the Nexus. You'll be grandfathered in and may even get a discount for upgrading to a 4g device. I got a $50 discount, but they didn't tell me why, and I'm not one to complain when it comes to free money
