OK so to start right now I'm unable to send text messages. I'm in an area without 4g. So first I did a battery pull and nothing, didn't even say 3g up there. So then I pulled the battery and the sim card, and now it says 3g and that I'm connected, but still can't send text messages.

Next is that when I turn my phone off and on with a Droid forums shortcut up it disappears, but when the shortcut isn't there it doesn't uninstall.

Last but not least sometimes randomly the screen will turn off, and when I turn it back on and unlock it it turns off again and does that 2 to 3 times and proceeds to work fine.

Any help on any of these would be fantastic.

I'm wondering if you might be in an area that you need to enable Global Roaming?

No, we're expecting 4g soon. With my OG it never did this. I had full bars non stop, so service shouldn't be any sort of issue.

I'd try it.

If you haven't tried it, I would. The roaming setting on the Droid used different words for roaming, so I'd try enabling it and see what happens. You might have been roaming your whole time on your Droid without realizing it. I had to enable Global Roaming in Alaska, yes I know Alaska is probably a special case, but I'd still try.

Settings, Wireless and Networks, Mobile Networks, Global Data Roaming, Set Access to all trips. Yes, it is probably slightly different in Gingerbread on the Bionic, but should be similar.

I think the screen going off was problems with the detecting when it goes in my pocket so I turned that off, and as for the service apparently it was only having trouble with one contact...I really only text a few people, and it fixed it when I deleted the contact and composed a new one with their number...weird but whatever
