A mind of it's own!!!

I have an OG droid and it's has a mind of it's own. Sometimes it takes all day just to get it open because my slider freezes up. Then when i get it flips through apps and screens on its own to stop it I have to pop the battery which takes me back to trying to get the slider to work. Most days i just leave it alone for a few hours and it will start to work. This is almost daily. Somebody help please!!!!!:frown:

Try leaving the battery out for 10 minutes or so.

If that doesn't work, then try a hard reset. If you can get control, then

  1. Press on Menu button, then go to Settings.
  2. Tap and navigate to Privacy -> Factory data reset.
  3. Touch on the Reset phone button.
  4. Tap the Erase Everything.
If the phone is not responding, remove the back cover and battery, and then re-insert the battery.

Slide open the keyboard, and then press and hold the X key + Power key simultaneously to power on the phone and bring up the recovery screen with image showing phone beside a yellow exclamation point in a white triangle.

  1. Press both Volume Up + Camera keys to show the Android system recovery menu.
  2. Use the D-pad (or Volume Down key) to select Wipe data/factory reset, and then press center button on D-pad (or Power key) to enter.
  3. Select the Yes — delete all user data and enter again.
  4. When done, select Reboot Phone .
This may not work, but there is no harm in trying.
