Here's something we haven't seen for quite some time... a new Droid Landing! That's right, a new Droid should be punching through Earth's atmosphere and arriving to dominate our Verizon and retail stores very soon. The last time we were notified of a Droid Landing was back in November of last year! For now it is just a teaser so we don't know any details for sure.

What new Droid do you think we will see? Could it be an HTC Droid One perhaps? We will let you know as soon as more details emerge!

Update: As wicked shared in the thread, more details are starting to filter out about whatever Verizon is doing with Droids. They released a new tweet, and they also released a video of an Augmented Reality Scavenger hunt game for whatever this new Droid Landing is. Here's the video:

i m almost expect the motorola x to be the landing device. It seems just like verizon to push an underpowered motorola device with a droid name. Droid just do not mean what it used to mean. Droid use to mean the grand daddy android device to have...now it just mean cheap phone meant to get those not wanting to spend a lot of money for a phone off their calling plan only into a smartphone family share plan.

My heart skipped a beat when I saw this. My hopes and dreams for a Droid 5 looked like they might be true. I'm still skeptical though.

Ill take a google experienced droid 5 if it had at least a 5 inch screen, a removable 2800 mah battery (I would prefer 3000), 720 p min but prefer 1080p resolution, 8-10 mp camera, with 4.2.2 out of the box.

I'd take a Droid 5 no matter what. I've been so desperate to see the QWERTY market give it one more shot. Make a Droid 5 Verizon, and make it damn good. Don't skip out on specs, don't skip out on advertising, there is still a desire for these devices!

Eventhough the X FON is coming, which is slightly beefed up version of what Droid Razr HD is (considering the specs.) I remember in the D11 discussion that Motorola is launching a number of new devices, so eventhough the X FON or XT1060 is going to kick it off for Verizon, on a low range budget multi-carrier phone. I think Motorola still has it planned to continue the development on the Droid and that is the phone I'm going to be interested in. There still is nothing confirmed of a Nexus 5, also even with the Google support on the GS4, HTC One, and Xperia Z lines. My thought is the next Droid could very well kick off Key Lime Pie, or better yet while imagining here a Motorola Droid Razr Nexus 5. -it's possible...

edit: I think the "Game Changer" reference in the Motorola X, is not the specs, but the fact that it is the ONLY "Made in the USA" phone on the market.

unless they using the game to make a scavenger hunt for a new device...that would be unique.

It's still amazing to me that all flagship phones don't have some basic features, I realize not everyone wants what I want in a phone.... But every release I read about is always missing SOMETHING, here's to a dream phone :-).

Of course my s4 has everything i want, perhaps I'm just a fanboy hehe.

I actually missed something. I forgot quad core processor and 2 gbs of ram.

And Caesar I agree I mean the s3 set the bar last year with dual core 2 gigs of ram (quad core over seas), the note 2 pushed further with quad core 2 gbs of ram on all variations, and the s4 went even further with a quad core and a better camera. Now if motorola is going to put out a phone that is to compete in the high end market they have to at least have a quad core device with 2 gigs of ram. Which one of us android nerds is going to turn down the note 2, htc one, or s4 for a dual core device (granted I know the s3 is dual core but that was last years specs). We still are in rumor stage so I will not get to hype about it but motorola has began to develop a rep of putting out devices with specs that do not seem like it is on the same playing field as the top devices in the market.

From a strategic perspective the Motorola X phone is going to launch something entirely different, a US built phone that is not meant to wow the Android geek crowd, but instead it is to focus on quality, COST, and of course attracting the popular iPhone crowd. It is launching with nearly every carrier, all types of colors, because it is a phone that I think is taking the place of the LG Nexus 4 (possibly), but simply a wow and pizazz phone for iPhone owners tired of iPhone. The X-Phone is a different phone, with a simple goal to takeover. It is not meant to compete with S4 or One or Xeperia Z, I think it is what is coming after the X, that is what we have been waiting for with Droid and Nexus line. Of course everything is speculation but I could see Motorola producing a Nexus 5, it is the carrier that is due for it and something tells me those Google Edition devices were definitely negotiations between the Suppliers and Google/Moto to agree on terms like something big in the form of a Nexus from Motorola. At the same time and for those of us that have been watching the rumors and this and that, we know Motorola has a device that is highly capable, quad-core 2ghz, 64gb+ memory or the 128gb, we know the talk about bullet proof glass screens and overall indestructibility. I think we should look past the X-Phone, its what's coming next that we are going to be interested in. Of course every thing I've said is rumor as nothing has been confirmed, but we certainly know that something is coming... as a new Droid has been spotted in near-Earth Orbit...
