About to try rooting

I'm about to try to root my Thunderbolt. This guy's youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C510GKeni8A&list=UUh1eZZdrYj0dBf7BQtbmBYQ&index=4&feature=plcp"]instructions for rooting with Revolutionary S-Off look pretty clear. So since I can't think of any reason I shouldn't, I guess I'll go with Revolutionary.

Having said that, I've read elsewhere that my software version, 2.11.605.9, isn't compatible with this root method, and that I need to revert to 2.11.605.5 instead. So to that end, 1. is this true, and 2. if it is, what's the best way of reverting (or whatever it's called)?
