According to Google ICS 4.0.3 coming to devices in the coming weeks

From this article it appears that Google has announced that Android 4.0.3 will be released to phones, tables, and other devices in the "next few weeks". I guess the forum prophet here that opened many threads stating "Motorola manager told me..." that stated the process of several updates in a row over the next few months will be proven or dis-proven rather quickly here soon.

This just proves that it will be here when it gets here. No one knows for sure. But the Google release sounds promising and more truthful than the forum prophets reciting of the "Gospel of Motorola" of it.

"Going forward, we’ll be focusing our partners on Android 4.0.3 as the base version of Ice Cream Sandwich. The new platform will be rolling out to production phones and tablets in the weeks ahead, so we strongly encourage you to test your applications on Android 4.0.3 as soon as possible."

Wow!!!the VW rep. that i spoke to(i think 1week and half ago)was right and he told me it will be release early Jan. but he told it's gonna be an ICS4.0.1.Actually i posted this in some other thread.Let's crossed our fingers!!

Hopefully it won't be.
I k ow people who have downloaded the ics ROM on their phone but those have too many bugs like the camera not working or the buttons mixed up. I want the official one.

Yeah, it's way too early for ICS ROM. Way too many bugs. At least it was announced on Dec. 4 that Google employees started testing ICS. So, it has been in the test phase for almost 2 weeks. Encouraging.

When I was living in El Centro, CA, a co-worker (from Detroit) told me he moved to El Centro because he had been told that it was "minutes away" from the Pacific Ocean. 120 minutes, yeah.

Weeks could mean 52 weeks for that matter.

I'm thinking by "other devices" what they mean is "other NEXUS devices"....such as the Nexus S. And as for the Moto is going to update phones like the Razr and Bionic to ICS in the beginning of January.....I find that HIGHLY doubtful. Just being honest....I would hope....hope....for middle of the year....

If we are placing bets I am going to say we will receive ICS in March. Maybe end of Feb if we are lucky.

And that's a ROM...not a official Ota ... not trying to down the developers but with every "rom" I have tried it has been buggy.. just my 2 cents.

I on the other hand can't wait to get that update!!

Heck...on that note even the OTA UPDATES are buggy...

I also read it'll start rolling out in the next few weeks; however, I read it will only be on Nexus devices first. So the Nexus S is believed to be the next recipient. I'll try and find the article online later, read it through Taptu...
