Activate rooted phone on my brother's acct

My brother needs a new phone before he heads off to the army. I am going to get a new phone and give him my current thunderbolt. It is rooted and has a liquid rom that is just a great rom. I know how to remove and add phones on the Verizon acct page; but, do you have any insight on how to activate this rooted tbolt on another account?
