ActiveSync Slow Sometimes

Using Incredible with Exchange 2010 ActiveSync - for the most part it works pretty well but sometimes it will go hours without a sync and I have to manually perform sync. The email sync setting is set to 'as items arrive' - this is intermittent issue but anything I can do to improve this would be great, kinda use to the instant email of blackberries. Other than this and battery issues I'm loving the Incredible.
