Activity Browser freezes

When I am using an application or just texing my phone stops working and a notification comes up stating "activity browser stopped working" and I can choose to wait or forceclose" this just started to happening a day or two ago. when this happens my whole screen is frozen as well. I have turned my phone off and taken the battery out numerous times and it still happend after a few minutes of use.
