Activity Home screen problems

I was trying to put a picture on my home screen. When I tried to save it the phone rebooted. It is a moto Razr 4G LTE. Menu bar works, it can receive calls but there is an error message that says Activity Home Screen (in application Home screen) is not responding. It gives the option to force close or wait. Can complete the phone call but then the screen goes black except the menu bar with the time, temp..... any suggestions?

Problem solved!!!! Tried to soft reboot by holding power button and the down volume key. Did not solve the problem. I was instructed to (and don't kill me because I don't have the entire set of directions here) hold the power button + the down volume + the up volume key and did a factory reboot. It reset the phone to how it was when it was sitting in the box. I lost all my downloaded apps, all my text messages, my call history, and all of my contacts. At least I didn't lose a single picture or video!!!!!:biggrin:
