Adding line to get S3 - Verizon

I would like to add a 5th line to my Verizon family plan to get an S3. If I add the line and activate an old dumbphone, will I immediately have the option to upgrade it at discounted pricing online? If so, I would transfer that upgrade to an existing unlimited data line before the new shared plans go into effect. Will this work ?

Not sure, A Verizon rep is going to use a dumb phone upgrade to get me the S3 when it launches in July by transferring the phone only to my line, leaving my line out of contract with unlimited. Not sure if you'll get an upgrade as soon as you add a line without a contract or not.
