Was hoping someone here has seen these ads before. I tried to capture one today but my sd card threw a fit and didn't save the shot.
I think it must be some app, and I've uninstalled a few and frozen some using titanium backup to try to find it, but no luck.
Anyway, screenshot follows.
Thanks in advance.

adons detector will find the offending app, free on the market. You can get Airpush Permanent Opt Out free from the market to stop the ads without having to uninstall the app as well.

A Rezound phone was used for this TapaTalk post

Or try airpush detector. That found the app that was putting the ads in my status bar

When you do identify the app that caused it, be sure to add a market review with 1-star rating indicating that it uses these genre of annoying ads :)

A little preventive measure is to look at app feedback before installing. People will post negative feedback when apps have airpush.

Also try to do a quick forum search in the future here. This topic is discussed very frequently and there are multiple threads on it already. I saw at least two or three started in the last week.

Looks like its Airpush ads. You can detect which app display those adds using "Airpush detector" or "Add-ons detector". After you scan find which app can display push ads. Then uninstall it. OR If you need to use that app future then install "Adaway" or "Ad free android" and block Airpush ads but need root access. Or you can "Opt-out" Airpush ads on there site in here.

Sorry for the delay, had forgotten about this with updating my rom and everything.

Used the airpush detector and found two apps that could open network sockets.
Removed those apps, and all their data (thanks titanium backup) and we're good. Haven't seen an ad since.
I should mention that it was Speak to It Assistant, and a Galaxy S theme for GoLocker that were the two I deleted.
