The Alcatel Idol 3's bootloader can be unlocked. This will work on carrier unlocked versions but won't work on carrier versions. You will need to be sure that you have the Alcatel USB drivers installed. Normally you can just plug your device in with the USB debugging mode enabled and windows will auto install the drivers. You will want to be sure that your battery is 85% charged or better. Be sure to have the adb and fastboot files in a folder on your PC. You will then connect your device to your PC, boot into fastboot mode, and type a series of commands in the command prompt. Head to the link below for detailed instructions.
