All Facebook friends showing up in text messaging

I'm very new to the Android world (I've had a Blackberry for years) and I know this is a stupid question but I can't figure it out. I have synced my contacts to my Facebook friends but when I go to do a new text message and type in the contact name, ALL of my FB friends show up. They don't all show up in my People list so why do they show up when I start typing the contact I want to send a text to? I've tried to go into all the different settings on People, FB, etc. and can't find anywhere that would stop that from happening.

Happens on my razr too but honestly it hasnt been that big of a deal, somewhat helpful because i have some people in my phone only though facebook

I think somehow you're connecting to a group when you try to text. See what happens if you select your people view to something like your backup assistance contacts list... and reboot the phone.
