We are seeing a new leak of the Note 8 which appears to suggest Samsung may have AR planned for the new device. The leak via slashleaks is labeled "Samsung Note8 AR (21MP/F1.7 MAIN LENS WITH COMPLETE AR SUPPORT SIMILAR TO ASUSZENFONEAR). The leaker has a brief history on the slashleaks site. Augmented Reality isn't that mainstream of a feature. I guess it would be nice if Samsung included it as an added bonus feature. Would this extra feature make you any more likely to drop $1000 on the device when it releases next month?

thanks a lot, I am trying my best not to think about that price tag and you go and mention it :-(

I have no need for the AR and already have issues with reality.

abbreviation for arkansas :)

from cnet
Augmented reality, or AR, is a term that refers to technology that superimposes computer-generated content over live images viewed through cameras.

I must be really missing something. I had several apps that did that on my OG Droid back in late '09 or early 2010. I could point my phone camera at any monument or museum in DC and a text box would pop up next to it with a brief description and a link to hit to open the web for more detailed information.
