Android 4.3 Update for Verizon's HTC One Delayed by a Month

HTC America president Jason Mackenzie just announced on Twitter today that the Android 4.3 update for the Verizon version of the HTC One will be delayed by a month. Specifically he said,

One Vz customers: we need more time to spin new SW & re-test 4.3 update. Approx a month. Appreciate your patience as we work to deliver

Other than alluding to needing to be baked a bit longer, no details have been revealed as to the cause of the delay. Of course, for Verizon customers, it's become par for the course as Big Red's vetting process for new updates is notoriously longer than their competitors.

Basically, Verizon didn't have any smart watches that needed a software update to attach to the One, causing massive returns of said watches. :tongue:

No biggie...a good chunk of the improvements in 4.3 are pretty subtle, including restricted profiles, an app permissions manager, and FSTRIM memory management. For 90% of the users out there, they may not even notice the difference between 4.2 and 4.3.

Translation: bloatware not finished implementing yet and we forgot to take away useful features so we've got to go back and do that also along with we accidentally improved battery life so that needs to be remedied as well
