Just yesterday the latest version of Android 5.0.2 started rolling out to Moto G 2nd generation owners. So far, a few people have received the over-the-air update to Android 5.0.2 which is software version 22.21.28. We aren't sure if this is just a pseudo-soak test or if this is the beginning of a broader rollout. We will keep you informed if we find out more.

Turbo does voice and data at the same time. Update added it after launch.
You spoke to a Verizon rep that doesn't know his phones.
What update is needed? Are you talking about VoLTE? If so then yes but normal Data(LTE) and voice has been around since the Thunderbolt. You have to be in LTE(4G) though.

On the Turbo they did away with the dual antenna that allowed for voice and data on 4GLTE. They did it because they were rolling out VOLTE which would allow voice and data at the same time with the one antenna.
VOLTE was not ready at launch so the Turbo could not do voice and data at the same time until it was updated for VOLTE when the service was ready.

Wow. That's gold right there. Take away something that's been there for years...ugh.

Vzw guy said no on turbo
You can on turbo... It's newly updated.

And yeah.. I think the "volte" thing is/was a bad idea...
