Android 5.0 Lollipop Running on Samsung Galaxy Note 4 [Video]

The video above from SamMobile treats us to a preview of Android 5.0 Lollipop running on the Samsung Galaxy Note 4. The version of Touchwiz that is running with Lollipop is unfinished, but it's a good start. What's particularly intriguing is that Samsung is sticking to the Material Design concept put forth by Google's latest OS, although not all of the apps have been restyled yet.

Despite this video, there is still much work to be done before it launches on the Galaxy Note 4, and Sammy hasn't shared any intel on a timeframe for that release. Rumors suggest that we might see it by the end of the year, although sometime early in January is more likely.

I know this isn't a finished product, but seeing this video and actually experiencing pure Lollipop on my newly acquired Nexus 6 yesterday (;)), I am glad I went the way I did! Sure the Nexus 6 won't have the "bells and whistles" the Note 4 does, but stock Lollipop has to be the absolute best looking version of Android to date! AND it's made GREAT strides in terms of added useful functionality ... to skin this OS is a sin IMHO ...

What about the bright white everywhere Yank? Seems a bit much IMO, but what are your thoughts?

It really isn't that bad IMO ... the setting menus are really the only areas where everything is white. And honestly, how much time do you spend there?? The notifications in the pull down shade are white, but they're minimal and look kinda classy IMO.

Notifications, settings and app drawer...goodgodman! They should have at least left the app drawer alone.

Hopefully not taking the trail too far off subject, but what is the most untouched and natural vanilla version of a launcher out there, in other words the one that most closely matches the way that the launcher on the Nexus runs itself, and yet gives some of the additional functionality in terms of things such as changing the background color too dark rather than white without bogging down the system?

With the exception of swiping left to access Google Now, I think Nova ... but then again I favor that launcher heavily and will always give it the thumbs up LOL!
