More and more cars are offering Android Auto as a feature. 2 days ago, Google announced something they hinted at a few months ago: Android Auto in every car! Ok, well... sort of. Google has released an Android Auto 2.0 app for your Android phone so you can experience what it's all about. It can be set to trigger automatically when it connects to a bluetooth device and Google is teasing that more voice commands are coming soon to make it even more helpful. Currently only L (5.0+) devices or newer are supported. So I guess not quite every car, Google?

Okay...I'm gonna give this a shot on my S6. My cars have Bluetooth on the head units (both Kenwoods) so I'll see what this does. I'd love to have an Android Auto head unit, but they're a bit pricey for me right now.

I've toyed with installing it, but my commute to work is so short and we travel so infrequently that I feel like it'd end up just sitting dormant on my phone most of the time. Glad to see them offer it in a way that get's it into the hands of more users though.

Same here, I probably could've utilized it somewhat over this past weekend when we took the 5-hour drive to visit my girlfriend's sister/niece/nephew (even though I know the way by now without nav assistance). But yes, at the very least, it's definitely nice to see it available to more users.

It'll be a bit longer someday, when we can afford to buy a house. We rent now. We're in a great location for getting places, but a terrible location for peace & quiet. We'd like to be more on the edge of town or slightly out.

That still makes for only a 10-15 minute drive based on where we'd like to move if we can find the right place for the right price. Small town.

Mine is super short, too. Good day: 15 min. Bad day: 16 min.
So

You still going to try it lllGood?

Yeah, I could still just play around with it in town or something. I mostly just want to see what it's like.

My commute is also 10-15 minutes depending on how many school buses I get stuck behind and how long the traffic lights are. :)

I suppose it might be handy for music playback and such while I'm plowing driveways this Winter. If nothing else, for the large buttons and minimal interface. Though, I got pretty good at stopping in a safe spot to send a text/etc. last year.

It's needs the ability to add apps to it. The two I use most when on the road long enough to actually make use of the features are 1) Waze for traffic/police reports and 2) HooplaDigital for audiobooks. Neither app is currently accessible through Auto. One would hope that may change soon for Waze since it's owned by the big G.

Unfortunately, it's not ready yet for Koenigsegg. I'd like to have it for my Regera.

I wish.

Those cars handle very well at 150+. Doubt you'd die unless you did something stupid.
