We are starting to get a couple of signs pointing towards a new Android OS update very soon, possibly as early as next week! It's been almost completely silent on the Gingerbread front with very little information leaking out or details left at bars for others to find and publish. (haha) The next version of Android gets branded with the Gingerbread code name and the big yummy mascot now has it's spot among the Google campus. See the video below in case you missed it:

Last week google releases an update to Google Maps. It appears to be the same on the surface, but digging a little deeper revels a folder that includes styling for API level 9. The current API for Froyo (Android 2.2) is level 8. While it's not a dramatic change, the interface is slightly more refined with new buttons and the slight-transparency over pop-up dialogs.
Adobe is set to release a new Flash Player update 11/9 version 10.1.105.x. Not only will the update fix a security issues but the description also includes some text that reads "Please install the upcoming 11/9 update (ver. 10.1.105.x) to ensure that Flash Player loads properly with future OS updates."
According to "trusted" source of IntoMobile, it was confirmed the SDK for the upcoming Android OS will make it's debut November 11th. Three days before this expected announcement from Google, Samsung has been rumored to unveil the Nexus 2, the first android phone powered with Gingerbread crumbs.
Do you think we'll have our hands on some Gingerbread before the turkey's out of the oven? If you've found any more signs suggesting a release next week let us know!
