That's a good question. I guess it depends on how much of the corporate BB market the other phone manufactures and google want to capture. One thing for sure, they won't fully capture that market without a query keyboard and a fully functional, dependable and seamless interface/sync with corporate email systems (which they don't have now...email that is). I hope there is a follow-on 4G phone, say the PRO 2, from Verizon with maybe a little larger keyboard and a little larger and better screen. If not, then I can see myself going back to BB in the future...I am not giving up my query keyboard and I don't want/like the other carriers networks/coverage.
Believe it or not, I still see treos floating around... there has to be a 4g follow up to the Pro. Candybar qwerty smartphones will always have a market
I wouldn't bet on that. Lots of people want the keyboard. If you noticed T-Mobil just started distributing a version of their Evo 4G phone that is smaller and has a pull out keyboard.
They wouldn't have done it if there wasn't a market out there for it.
If there will be no successor, I will buy several and use them until they die. Once enterprise becomes more comfortable with android, the demand for the droid pro will grow. Let's hope its not discontinued before it really gets a chance.
I think we'll see something like it later this year. So far the Droid 3 and HTC Merge are the only keyboard phones in the pipeline that I'm aware of. Though those are landscape sliders, not candybar phones.
I really hope its a rumor because i switched over from a bb and im loving android os. But if this is the last candybar qwerty i may have to move back to rim once they catch up a little.....
Eh? Android is designed for anything, Google isn't stopping companies from making a phone with a physical keyboard.. I think if the droid pro ends up selling really well then you'll more than likely see a droid pro 2
